Added: No place to rest

The photo or this week of The Sunday Muse triggered a lot.
So many people trying to go to a safe place.
Yesterday evening I saw children in the oncology ward of a hospital. And their moms.
"Get them out!!! I told the TV. "Get them out!!"

If I would have a license, I would have gone to get them out.

Today I heard others got them out. I was so happy for the moms, for the children.

Today I heard that in another city a hospital was hit. 2 children died,

In the past 2 of my babies died, so I can imagine a bit of their family's grief.

Among the comments - thank you! - was one that got me feel amazed, irritated, and wondering why someone writes poetry who is not able to feel a bit of empathy.

"Unfortunately civilian collateral damage is a major part of war "

As a RAF daughter, a psychologist of veterans, volunteer at a parachute group, etc, I know that.
But there is a difference between targetting a military target, killing the people in it plus the man walking there with his dog, and firing rockets at children's hospitals, schools, oncology wards. Between killing someone without intention and targetting an appartment building as long that it ends as a huge gaping wound in earth, with a pile of rubble on top. And what to think about encircling a city and leaving the people in there without food, drink, warmth, water or anything else to live, shelling them almost continuously? Until they die one way or another.
That is not collateral damage. That is murder.
I can engage in a discussion about the wrong of using outdated materials killing everyone in a wide area around a target versus drones that hit precisely on target.

And the word "unfortunately' is completely misplaced.
It enables the writer to take distance and just not care.
It's "tragically.'...

But I know how people talk until it involves themselves....
