A long time ago I had a blog and I asked John Patrick O'Brien (1951-2004) if I was allowed to use one of his paintings.
He said 'yes', asked me a question, he started to read my blog, he found out I was a ballet dancer, just like his wife, and we mailed each other, becoming friends.
It was great to talk about his paintings, as he was open for ideas and dreams. And he commented on my poetry.
When I saw the painting of the derelict room, I immediately was taken to one of his paintings.. to our friendship, and how it suddenly ended when he died.
I never said goodbye in words, only in ballet....
So for John... and some newfound image of missing him....
Goodbye to John
